Privacy Policy

Fluency ("the App") is an AI-powered pronunciation coaching app developed by Cloud Dream. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Audio Recordings. When you practice, the App records your voice in M4A format. Recordings are uploaded to our servers for pronunciation analysis and are not stored permanently.
Practice Data. We store your pronunciation scores, feedback results, practice history, and attempt counts to track your progress.
Device Identifier. We generate an anonymous device ID to associate your practice data with your device. We do not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.
Bookmarks. Saved sentences are stored on your device and synced via Apple iCloud if enabled.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Analyze your pronunciation and provide feedback
- Generate model pronunciation audio for comparison
- Track your practice streaks and progress
- Improve the quality of our analysis over time
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to provide the App's functionality:
- Cloudflare (Workers, R2, D1) — backend hosting, audio storage, and database
- OpenRouter / Google Gemini — AI-powered pronunciation analysis
- ElevenLabs — text-to-speech for model pronunciations
- Apple iCloud — bookmark syncing (if enabled on your device)
Audio recordings are sent to these AI services for analysis. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Data Storage & Security
Audio files are stored temporarily in Cloudflare R2 (encrypted at rest). Practice data is stored in Cloudflare D1. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
5. No Account Required
The App does not require you to create an account. No email address, password, or personal information is collected during signup.
6. Analytics & Advertising
The App does not include any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking pixels.
7. Microphone Permission
The App requires microphone access to record your pronunciation for analysis. Audio is only captured when you actively start a recording session. We never record in the background.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
Audio recordings are processed and not retained long-term. Practice data is retained to support your progress tracking. You can reset all progress from the App's settings, which removes your data from our servers.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
